The Presidency of the Russian Federation is being bought by Major General Igor Stretletsky with money hidden offshore by the KGB, and Quentin Ayres intends to stop him.
Quentin, head of Moscow Capital, is working with U.S. Treasury and C.I.A. operatives in Moscow, and they are allied with the Mayor of Moscow, the beautiful Natalia Konstantinov, who is also running for President.
Streletsky is being backed by the financier Tretyakov who controls the offshore funds.
Quentin Ayres is in a key position. He has links with the institutions that administer international financial transfers and has a long history of dealing with tax havens the world over. By tracing the funds and performing one or two actions that are definitely not on his job description, Quentin can turn the tables on Tretyakov and free Russia from his despotic reign.

I really enjoyed reading "Red Money" as it was well written and very fast paced. The story develops and moves forward quickly. There are some unexpected twists in the latter part of the book, especially towards the end, that kept me wondering as to what would happen next. I also liked the development of all the key characters in the story, especially Quentin Ayres and Natalia Konstantinov. The book is well researched with a fair amount of detail on topics such as money laundering, the guns and armaments used by characters in the book, modern surveillance equipment, and the history of Russia, especially in the days of the Soviet Union. The ending sets the book up for a sequel which I hope the author is planning to write.Product details

Red Money A Financial Espionage Novel Jon Gregory Taylor 9780987200402 Books Reviews
Very entertaining and easy to read. The story line is fun and interesting, and after you get in it, you can't stop reading. Hope there is a sequel!!
I really enjoyed this book and read it in just 2 sittings over a Saturday and Sunday. The book grabs your attention right from the start and keeps you engaged throughout. There is a great scene where Irena (Tretyakov's secretary)is installing the cameras to spy on her boss that was was really well done and very suspenseful. I was actually concerned whether she was going to pull it off or not and on the edge of my seat through the whole thing. If you like books that take you on an adventure in the world of international intrigue, money and politics then you will like this book!
The title, Red Money, grabs your attention. The Russian story is well developed, and keeps you on edge. At times, I felt that I was actually there, experiencing the events unfolding. The suspense kept me reading till the end. There were a few sentences that were awkward, but overall, the book was a good read. Not being an expert in Finance, I can't comment if the strategy was plausible, but it sure sounded good. The first novel must be the hardest to write. I do hope Mr. Taylor is encouraged to keep on releasing a few more stories.
